Meet The Artist

Liliana Herrera is a multidisciplinary artist and bilingual educator whose journey weaves together the transformative power of art and the profound impact of teaching.
Born in Sonora, Mexico, Liliana draws inspiration from her Mexican and Aztec heritage, infusing her work with elements of magical realism and contemporary surrealism. Her art features whimsical characters and dream-like imagery that invite viewers into a realm where trials, memories, and emotions converge, sparking conversations about rebirth, love, trauma, and healing. Each brushstroke reflects her personal and cultural journey, advocating for self-expression and resilience.
Liliana’s work has earned recognition both locally and nationally, with features in esteemed institutions such as the Oakland Museum and participation in Mac Miller's fan art pop-up show, Circles Til Infinity, showcased in Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and New York. She has also curated numerous art shows and exhibited in group exhibitions across the Bay Area. Beyond visual art, she extends her creativity to modeling, freelance face/body painting, and community-building through volunteer work.
As a bilingual art teacher with over a decade of experience, Liliana has worked with students from TK to 12th grade in diverse classrooms, as well as facilitating college prep courses. She holds a BA in Studio Art from California State University and has collaborated with public schools, non-profits, and private institutions. Fluent in both Spanish and English, she brings a rich multicultural perspective to her teaching. Her philosophy centers on the belief that art is a universal tool for self-expression and healing, accessible to everyone regardless of technical skill or background.

Liliana often shares, “If it weren’t for art, I would not be here. I knew I needed to share that with my students, and now I want to share it with the world.” This conviction inspired her to start her business, with a mission to provide art practice workshops that alleviate stress, foster learning through creative exploration, and help individuals process trauma. Her workshops emphasize art-infused team-building practices and restorative justice frameworks, designed for individuals, educators, and community service professionals.
As part of her business services, Liliana also offers mural painting and face painting, bringing vibrant, custom designs to both public and private spaces. Her murals are an extension of her artistic vision, transforming walls into stories that celebrate culture, identity, and community. Through face painting, she brings joy and creativity to events, offering unique designs that showcase her flair for detail and artistry.
Through her teaching, workshops, and creative services, Liliana creates fun, explorative, and meaningful experiences that promote mindfulness, enhance cognitive and fine motor skills, build self-confidence, and provide a path to healing. Whether in the classroom, the studio, or the community, her work stands as a testament to the transformative power of art and its ability to nurture the human spirit.
